The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc was picked later in the season than the 2019, producing a medium-bodied wine.  Pale-yellow with tropical fruit flavors and smooth acidity, a nice lingering finish.

This wine has good weight and delivers a fresh, mouth-watering acidity making the wine a fine food accompaniment as well.  This fullness of flavor lingers into a long, fresh and enjoyable finish.

Hints of orange zest on the nose, along with lemongrass, slate, a slight herbal note.  These carry into the palate  a little pineapple, apricot. This wine has good weight and delivers a bright, fresh, food-friendly acidity.  The fullness of flavor lingers into a long, fresh and clean finish.

This variety has consistently expressed a slate or nice “wet rock” aroma.  Hints of fresh orange and lemon zest, Spring-time flowers, pear, almond.  Good palate weight with a crisp-apple acidity and a balanced structure.  The fruit carries into the palate and through to a clean lingering finish.

Best Rosé, 2021 Loudoun County Wine Awards

A blend of six Boxwood varieties, all estate grown.  Sauvignon Blanc added to balance wine and increase aromas.  Each variety bled separately and cool fermented with tailored yeasts.  Crisp acidity, soft tannins, and full-bodied, with refreshing finish.

87 Points, Wine Advocate

On the palate full-bodied with bright acidity and a light astringency giving the wine “backbone”.  Soft red berry fruits carry through to a nice lingering finish with maybe a slight sensation of sweetness, though the wine is bone dry.

Crisp and clean, this rosé provides subtle aromas of red bramble fruits …raspberry, strawberry, with some spiciness. On the palate, the fruit/spice theme continues and includes hints of watermelon and red cherry through the finish. This is a full-bodied rosé with nice acidity and soft tannins to help structure the wine and support a nice lingering finish.

Black cherries and plums dominate the aroma and the flavor profiles, assisted by a smooth palate and a hint of licorice on the finish. Mouth filling fruit flavors and supple tannins are nicely integrated into the wine giving it good structure and texture. The fruit flavors linger well beyond the last swallow. 

A whiff of lilac, followed by red plums dominate the nose.  Juicy dark cherry and plum flavors integrate nicely with a supple mouthfeel.  Fresh acidity rounds out the palate and strawberries linger on the finish.

Estate grown fruit with Merlot predominant and first picked.  Fermentations separately by variety and clones.  Aged in French barrels 12-15 months.  Dark color, plummy fruit, and soft tannins produce a lingering finish.

This wine suggests aromas of black fruits such as blackberries, black cherry, and currant. One may sense a bit of vanilla and fig. These sensations also carry through to the palate where ripe, light tannins help give the wine a soft velvety mouthfeel. The wine maintains a black bramble fruit finish, with even a hint of dark chocolate, that lingers nicely.   

The nose on this wine is figs, black raspberries and cocoa.  The flavors of cocoa and spice mingle with dark plum and balance with a velvety smooth mouthfeel.  Cassis and raisins linger on the finish.

Rich and complex with a deep garnet hue, this wine is indicative of the excellent vintage that brought beautiful, concentrated fruit to the winery. Begins with dark cherry and black plum aromas which contribute to the flavors and a supple mouthfeel. It finishes with a lingering note of tobacco, cranberry and cinnamon.   This wine will continue to improve with age.

This wine begins with a blueberry note on the nose, quickly followed by black cherries and plums. Hints of black pepper and licorice complement the fruit flavors. Caramel and vanilla combine for a smooth palate and the mellow tannins and acidity add a lingering finish. This young wine should mature 5-15 years.

A rich elegant wine with subtle notes of rose petals, red cherries and blueberries. Blueberry and cherry flavors with a hint of cocoa and the lingering ripe tannins make a well-rounded, superb wine, worth of the Reserve label. This wine should mature 5-15 years.
